Back to School

At every level of education, America Is All In members are working to make schools healthier, more efficient and affordable to run, and more resilient in the face of climate change. Energy efficient upgrades to school buildings, more clean energy to power our schools, the electrification of school bus fleets, and student climate action are all ways that schools -- and students, teachers, and our wider communities -- can not only benefit from, but lead the clean energy transition.

See how electric school buses are improving the health and wellbeing of students, teachers, bus drivers, and the community at large in Baltimore, Maryland:

Schools Win With the Inflation Reduction Act

The Inflation Reduction Act has the potential to be the largest federal investment in school infrastructure in history -- and the best part is that many of those funds are through the non-competitive, cash reimbursable, and unlimited Direct Pay process.

Clean Power for Schools

With the IRA's Investment Tax Credit, schools can generate their own cost-effective, clean power with solar energy and store and provide back-up power with energy storage.

Electric School Buses

Combined, the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provide $8.6 billion to help school transition their school buses from harmful diesel to healthier, cost-effective electric buses.

Energy Efficient Buildings

The IRA's Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction can be used to improve interior lighting, HVAC systems, and the building envelope. These improvements help schools save on energy costs, improve inside environments, and lessen their own climate impacts.
